Can I password-protect my Dropbox folder?

I want  to ensure that people cannot access my dropbox if my computer was stolen. Can i password protect the dropbox folder?

  • Not with Dropbox no, because it is just a folder on the machine like all others.

How do you secure 'My Documents' etc.? Do the same to the Dropbox one.

        Hey again, LKRD

Where is this old folder located? What encryption option are you referring to? Can you include a screenshot in your next reply?

        Cheers

Hey LKRD, welcome to our forum!

You could secure your entire computer’s contents with an operating system login/password. In the event that you have your local Dropbox folder protected, someone may still be able to gain access to your account online, if you’re logged in through our desktop app.

    Cheers!
