Hello everyone!
You will want to use the Dropbox for Gmail extension from the Google Workspace Marketplace: https://workspace.google.com/marketplace/app/dropbox_for_gmail/33761876029
This will put a blue Dropbox icon in your Gmail to use instead of the gray one you have been using.
The gray Dropbox icon should disappear, but in case it doesn't, disconnect 'Dropbox for Gmail' from the Dropbox Connected Apps page.- GGxNew member | Level 2
The workspace extension worked for me as well. Thanks! It was driving me NUTS! A good enough workaround until the grey extension is fixed.

BUMP we need a status update on this from the development team.

This response is a little insulting. This is the extension that doesn't work!
I never had a grey icon? Mine has always been blue.
Please advise
thanks

Grey one is for 'normal' users downloading what i'm assuming is the consumer version of Dropbox from the Chrome Web Store.
The link above is a Google Workplace Marketplace - sounds like a different tier. I've uninstalled the 'consumer' version, and added the Marketplace one. It works for me.
The blue Dropbox icon is closer to the right side of the emails or on the right bar in my browser for my Gmail atm.

I get the same error message. I have re-installed the extension and it still refuses to connect. Will not work in Edge or Chrome. I am on windows 7 pro
Anyone with a solution??
thanks

I have the same issue, this is what I did to try to fix it with no success
-Reset all of my network settings
-Deleted Chrome 3 times - including local files (and then re-installed)
-Cleared cache and cookies
-Removed and re-added extension
-Had my brother in another state and network freshly add the extension(he had the same problem)
I have 3 support tickets out right now and not a single one has been answered, it has been over 24 hours, this is clearly a chrome extension issue on their end
- WalterDropbox StaffHey there ken l.19 & Smokey Bluntson; sorry to jump in here.
Could you try the steps mentioned in this discussion and let us now if they helped improve matters for you?
Thanks so much!
- LusilDropbox StaffHello LordRugby, let's see what we can do here.
Could there be a VPN, firewall, security app, or antivirus restricting traffic to any of our official domains?
Also, make sure that you don't have any third party browser extensions or plugins that could be affecting this.
Have a look and let me know of any updates, thanks!- RHW1Explorer | Level 4
I have exactly the same problem. It started suddenly after using the Dropbox extension for a long time. I have no trouble visiting the Dropbox website or adding files to it.
Help!

Hello, I have the annoying problem that I can't connect to www.dropbox.com from my home network. It's not a browser issue, as it happens with 4 different, all up-to-date browsers. The connection is simply refused, i.e., I get a "site unavailable" or similar message when I try. It's as if my IP address has been blocked. I believe that's the reason, as if I remotely connect to my work server, I am able to go to Dropbox through that work server connection without a problem. What can I do about this?
