Sync icons are missing after MacOs Ventura update
Hey everyone, After I've updated my mac to Ventura, the Dropbox sync icons disappeared in my dropbox folder. Everything works fine, but when I have 2 folders opened I can't see which one is the D...

Have you tried marking it as offline to see if a green mark appears on the file?

Can you please follow these steps and let us know if they helped improve matters?
- Click on the Apple logo located at the top-left of the screen.
- Click on System Preferences. (MacOS Ventura: System Settings > Privacy & Security)
- Click on Extensions.
- Click on Finder Extensions.
- Only leave Dropbox Finder Integration ticked.
- Once this is completed suggest to close the window.
- Click one more time on the Apple logo at the top-left of the screen.
- Click on Force Quit.
- Look for Finder on the list.
- Click on Finder then Relaunch.

Well, that seems to have done it. I had a Surfshark extension turned on, apparently. Guess that means I can't have that turned on anymore?
Thanks, Walter !

Glad to hear it's sorted now for you Archeowebby - thanks for keeping me in the loop too.
As for you now Justin_S, it looks like you're on the updated version of the desktop app for Mac OS so you might need to make the files with no icons online only and then local (available offline).
Let me know if this helps!

Hi Walter,
I misread your note and made everything "available offline" first. After doing so, though, the icons are now working as expected.
Many thanks for the great help!
On a side note. I was also no longer seeing "Dropbox" under "Locations" in the finder's sidebar. Checking the "Cloud Storage" option under the sidebar tab in finder settings corrected the issue.

I did those steps - same issues

Hi. I am having the same issues. I have done all the same steps to try and make it work. The only difference is that I don't see the dropbox finder extension at the top level but I have to go into added extensions option to see dropbox there. Hopefully the images are helpful enough.
I am on Mac Ventura 13.6.3.
Dropbox Folder is on an external USB hard drive.
Dropbox desktop client version is: 195.4.4995

Hey gonzalogarcia19 - sorry to hear about this.
I can see that you have One Drive running on your computer. Can you temporarily quit it or uninstall it from your machine and let us know if the issue with the Dropbox syncing icons persists?
- gonzalogarcia1911 months agoExplorer | Level 3
I have done it and now the sync icons work. This is very weird. I do not need one drive for the time been but what if I do?? Would this problem persist if I install one drive again?

Hi gonzalogarcia19!
Generally, we don't recommend two cloud providers syncing the same folder path, since that can cause some issues.
I can't tell you for sure if the issue will re-appear once you install OneDrive again, but it is possible.
You can always use both of them, but make sure to pause Dropbox, when syncing your content using OneDrive, or vice versa.
I hope this helps!

Onedrive and dropbox are not on the same folder path. I use them for different things and don't want to have the same on both. Also, for many many years until I upgrade to Ventura, this was never an issue. But ok. I'll keep it in mind. thanks for the help
