In the future, will the update to the version with File Provider be mandatory on Mac OS?

Hello , I would like to know if in the future an update to the Dropbox version with File Provider will be mandatory for all MAC OS users.

Can you confirm that with the version with File Provider it will not be possible to choose the folder where to sync the files on one's computer?

We would like to continue using sync in the classic way, possibly using folders different from the system ones and possibly even external hard drives.

  • Hi giulio, thanks for messaging the Community.

Generally, the File Provider upgrade would follow the requirements of the Mac OS specifications.

Regarding the option for external drives, this is already possible if you meet these requirements.

If you have any further queries, feel free to message back.
