Eliminate Dropbox start-up race condition
My Dropbox folder is on an encrypted drive which is automatically unlocked at login (on a Mac). The Dropbox app is automatically started at login. This causes a race condition and Dropbox often cannot find its linked folder because it looks before the drive is ready.
Possible solutions: (1) include an option in the "Dropbox Folder Missing" dialogue to "Try again", (2) include a configurable option to delay folder linking on start-up, (3) have the app automatically retry relinking on failure, (4) all of the above.

Hi ropeless, thanks for posting here.
I’d like to thank you for your feedback, first of all.
Other than that, what you can do in this scenario, is to use a third-party app/script to delay the startup of the Dropbox app, or disable the automatic Dropbox startup completely and launch the app manually, when the drive is available.
I hope this helps a bit.

Thanks for a quick response. I was hoping that Dropbox would see my suggestion as a simple-to-implement enhancement rather that a problem for me to solve. In particular, I'm disappointed that the recommendation is to use a 3rd-party product or to disable automation.
