Why is my computer being filled with TMP files in the Dropbox program folder?

My Dropbox is set to online-only mode but why is it still generating temp files? My hard drive is almost full because of this.

Dropbox downloads files locally when you open or edit them and so will still need some storage. It also will not turn files locally that have been downloaded to Online only again automatically, you need to actively do that.

Hi Mark, thank you for your response. Does it mean that I need to manually clear the Dropbox cache every time I open and finish working on an online-only document?

Hi yapanitz, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

As Mark said, the app will download files temporarily, however, it should be in the Dropbox cache folder.

This screenshot looks to be the inside of the Dropbox desktop application program folder, which shouldn't really have that much data in it.  For instance, my Temp folder in the same location as yours is currently empty.

Could you try quitting the Dropbox desktop application from the system tray, and then delete the temp folder?

Keep me updated with any progress!
