I keep getting a message informing me my Dropbox is full, but I have no files.
Why do I keep geting a message informing me my Dropbox is full and to upgrade when I have deleted all files?

I am not a frequent user of this product, but I was invited to add photos to a folder that someone else created. I added 377 photos and now my basic account is slightly overfull. I don't need the photos in my account; I have them on my phone, and will save them to my desktop computer. I don't care if the account is full and not able to sync. If I delete them from my account, will they still be in the shared folder where I added them? I guess I don't understand how the program works; I figured the photos would go into the other person's folder and not affect my account.

No. If you delete them from the shared folder in your account, they'll be deleted for all other members of the folder as well.

If you're a member of a shared folder, you have your own copy of the folder in your account and it takes up space. Anything you add to the folder syncs with all other members. You're not uploading directly to their account.
If you don't need access to the shared folder anymore, you can leave the share so it doesn't impact your own account. Refer to the following help article:
