How to stop Dropbox syncing with external drivers
Dear Community Members,
I am a total ignorant with digital tools.
I want to use DropBox only for what I want. Meaning I want to share stuff. I do not want that Dropbox synchronizes with my laptop...

Hey DreamingboxUser, thanks for joining our Community!
It sounds like you may have enabled the Dropbox Backup feature to backup your external drives to Dropbox.
If that's so, you can disable it as outlined here and access your backups directly from this page.
I hope this helps!

Hi there,
Im having a similar issue. I would like to upload photos from my cell phone. I accidentally clicked on backup on my dropbox app (cell phone) and so its backing up all my photos. I also have the drop deskbox version installed with Windows. Since i have a free version of dropbox, I looked for the backup section in preference and there is not an area where it talks about " adjust settings" like the instructions say. All i see is to checkmarks on or off to folders and click ok, but that does not even stick because if I go back into the backup tab, all folders are checked again. Extremely frustrating and yet my photos are still synching. Please help. I need to stop the current synching and dismantle the backups permanently but still be able to upload my selected photos from my cell phone. How do I do that please?
Thank you for your help in advance!

Hi jazzkat10us, if you enabled a backup via your phone, you might be referring to the camera upload feature.
Have you tried these steps to disable it from your phone?
