Why won't my files upload?
Wondering why, without having made any changes to my computer or wifi connection, my files won't upload?
Hello, Bill & LorenzO...
How much storage space does it show when you look here (eg: 575 MB of 2 GB used)?
Downloading files will always be faster than initially uploading large amounts of folders/files to your Dropbox account. That's because our Internet Service Provider's upload speeds are always much slower than download speeds.
Example: We have 15 MB download but only 512 Kbps upload which makes uploading 25 GB folders horrendously slow (our upload speed is 1/30th of our download speed).
If you're currently using the web interface to upload your files (20 GB maximum) then I'd recommend installing Dropbox's Desktop Client (allows files larger than 20 GB and it will be faster).

THINGS TO TRY WHEN UPLOADING LARGE FILES:- Connect your computer with an Ethernet cable vs WiFi connection (helps, but it's minimal).
- If you're connecting your computer through a WiFi connection, then shut off WiFi to your other devices (eg: phones, tablets, Roku and other computers).
- Don't upload files from multiple devices at the same time.
- Don't use your internet connection for anything else while uploading (eg: surfing, VOIP calls, Skype, Roku streaming, etc).

Suggestion that there were too many files on our account. However, other computers are able to upload excel files. Also, I can upload files other than excel.
