Sharing best practices for tracking shared folders.

Hello team:

I am uploading some training materials to my account.

Several FOLDERS with several VIDEOS in each.

Ideally, i could do the following:

1 - disable downloads

2 - share link to staff with out dropbox account

3 - track clicks and such

4 - have links expire at certain date.

It seems that not all of these are available (with folders).

For example, as i was signing up, i saw "track and send" but now that i've spent the better part of a day uploading files, it seems like that does not work with folders, but only individual files (i have 240 files, so that's not efficient).

Any idea about how best to approach this?

I am trying to share ONE FOLDER at a time, for staff to watch the included videos, and somehow be able to track whether they actually click on the link...(at minimum)

Thoughts??

Hey Husky_H, thanks for taking the time to post to our Community.

The "send & track" feature is kind of different to sharing files through Dropbox shared links.

With shared links, you can have the permissions you mentioned (disabling downloads for the links, setting expiration dates and adding passwords).

You can also send entire folders, not just files.

These options don't exist for the "send & track" feature.

You can read more about shared links here and about the "send & track" feature here.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Hello again. And thanks for this.

Do you have any tricks for tracking?

Maybe i can send a single file or photo for staff to click on which inlcludes the LINK to the rest of the files, perhaps??

It's a real issue, not being able to track a link to a folder.

What do you suggest as a clever workaround?
