New email verification for client?

For the first time today, when I sent a reusable link to a client it prompts them to verify their email first. They have to enter their email, Dropbox Sign sends them an email, they have to go the email sent and click a link there to sign the document. Is this a new step Dropbox Sign has just added?

Hi NStephens, sorry to jump in here!

    This is expected.

For security and tracking purposes, a signature request sent via a link requires the signer to verify their email address first. This will enable us to verify ownership of their account for identity and authentication purposes. You are not able to bypass this step as it is necessary for us to be able to provide you with a transaction history.

    I hope this clarifies!

I recently experienced something like that with a different service. I sent a document for signing, and my client had to verify their email first too. It’s a good way to ensure the right person is signing and helps keep everything secure.

When I was preparing for that, I used a bulk email verifier to double-check that my client’s email was valid before sending anything. It saved me from the hassle of bouncing emails and delays. If Dropbox Sign is prompting clients to verify, it might just be their way of tightening security. It’s a bit of a shift, but it can make the process smoother in the long run!

Hey Dextechem! Glad to hear you’re enjoying Dropbox Sign 🎉 I'm Theresa, one of the Community managers here at Dropbox 😸 I’m always curious about how people use Dropbox during their workday.  If you are open to sharing, I would love to hear more about your workflow and how it coincides with Dropbox. Got any cool tips or tricks for using sign that you would like to pass on to another user?

PS. If you haven’t tried it, Dropbox Paper is great for making to-do lists and staying organised. It works super well with Dropbox Sign 🙌

Can’t wait to hear what you think 😀

Hey NStephens, thanks for posting on our Community.

May i ask if this client of yours has a Dropbox/Dropbox Sign account associated with the email you used to send them the link to sign your document?

Let me know more and we'll take it from there.
