As you've mentioned, this ticket was forwarded to the engineering team, so there isn't much else I can state on the progress of the report.

Hi Jay, thanks for chiming in, but you haven't added anything to the thread (and to the incident)
How about an ETA on a fix for this regression? 5.5 months and counting, led me to the headline I put on this thread.
Is there anyone on the team who is going to fix this? Or should I, as Charlie Windsor implies, give up and find a new product that will get maintenance -- as in, actual bugfixes to reproducible core functionality issues?
