Hi there and thanks for the question!
There's currently not a way to receive an email for when files have finished uploading, but you can see all the changes to your account on the Events page here:
https://www.dropbox.com/events
You can also get notifications from the Dropbox desktop application or by using an RSS feed. There's more on that here:https://help.dropbox.com/files-folders/notified-changes
Cheers!

Where is the RSS Feed hiding at? @Dave C.

Does the notification stay on my screen until I dismiss it? In my experience, unless I am sitting in front of my computer when the notification arrives, I will not see it. That's not the same as an email sitting in my inbox which I check regularly anyway. I've asked for this for years. They could make it a premium feature, and get more paying customers. Am I the only person who wants this??

Yeah but shouldn't there be a way to get push notifications on iOS when someone uploads something into a file that they are sharing with me? Otherwise, what is the purpose of the notifications?

Use the RSS feed, to most people this is exactly the same as an email.

Have you used the RSS feed yet? You can find it on the Events page.

Guys,
There is an IFTTT recipe to be notified via email when changes are made to a particular dropbox directory here:

Enjoy.

Zapier is the Special Olympics of interoperability.
