Hi tetrisplanner, let's jump right into this!
Have you tried the steps mentioned in this Help Center article, in order to try to move the content from the subfolders, exactly where you want them to be?
Are these files shared files, or simply ones? Also, which platform do you use on your end when trying to achieve that?

Sorry to jump in here, tetrisplanner.
To move files from one location in your Dropbox to another, you'll need to follow the steps Megan linked in her reply above.
Instead of one by one, you can also select multiple files, by clicking on the check box on the left of each file name.
