There is no error, when you change the name, either by going into properties and changing name in there, or just right click the file > Change name, you change the name, for example you add a "1" to the file name, press enter and it simply reverts back, no error message nothing, just to clarify further.
Let's say I have a file called Rapport2023.pdf, I want to change the name to Rapport2023January.pdf, I press "Change name" write Rapport2023January.pdf and press enter, nothing happens, it simply reverts back to Rapport2023.pdf without prompting anything, no error message, nothing.
And remember, we can change the name just fine up in the cloud, or if we move out the file out of the local Dropbox folder to the PC desktop, but not while the file is inside the local Dropbox folder.

If you quit the Dropbox desktop application entirely, are you able to rename the file?
What if you move the file to another folder, can it be renamed that way?

I have not tried quitting the Dropbox app and renaming the file, I will try it tomorow once I get in contact and can remote connect to my customer.
We can change the name of the file if we move it out of the local Dropbox folder, tex move it to desktop, or Documents, etc, then yes we can cange the name of the file.
I have not yet tried to move the file to another local synced Dropbox folder and tried changing the name, I will try it tomorow too.
I will get back to you.
