Automation of subfolders to keep the same pattern as the parent.
Is there a way to enable all new subfolders to automatically have the same automation as the parent folder, or even the grandparent folder? As far as I can see there isn't one.

Hey there jeromemuller, thanks for posting on our Community and happy Monday!
This should actually be possible now as I just gave it a go and it worked fine for files I uploaded to the sub-folder of the automated parent folder.
Can you give it a go again and let me know how it goes? Just click the folder where you’d like to add your automation> Click Add automation> then Convert Files to PDF. Note that you can personalize from there, and include files in all sub-folders as well.
I hope this helps and please keep us posted, Jerome.

Hi Walter!
Thank you for your feedback!
Unfortunately, it keeps not working! See the image below. The file 'Test file - comment expense' in the parent folder 'SecuChatExpensePlugin' has a converted PDF version. The same file is put into a sub-folder 'jerome.muller' and does not convert into a pdf version, nor does it happen to the file shared in our chat solution and automatically synced in the sub-sub-folder 'Expense Plugin Demo'.
How did you configure it? When I try to do it at the configuration, there is no option to apply the same to sub-folders...
Thank you!
Jerome

Hey jeromemuller, thanks for the additional info and screenshots.
Do you see the same if you try this from a different browser or a private browsing window as well?

Exactly the same on Safari...or an anonymous page...
While trying to set it up again...the only difference is that it gives me the option to also convert already existing files...but this does not apply to the sub-folders either.- Walter2 years agoDropbox Staff
Thanks for the screenshot and the additional information jeromemuller - much appreciated.
Could you maybe create a new folder and try to set this automation there? Does it work normally with files added to sub-folders?
