10 months agoAdding text box to PDF files
Hi, first time user here. I have spent hours trying to figure this out. I'm trying to add a text box and I go to Edit PDF but can only write text, not enclose it in a box. I am trying to find out how...

Because thats how the comments system works I'm afraid. The comments are not a part of the file itself but rather a 'conversation' type screen at the side of it. You have selected an area you wish to comment on, you then say what the comment is and it lists at that side. People can then move around the file and see those comments at the side at the points people have drawn around.
Also note that unless people are full members (i.e. have a logged in Dropbox account), with sharing rights, they wont be able to see this.

Yes, thank you. I think I figured out that I have to create the textbox in Adobe and then upload it to Dropbox. I am hoping others in my Adobe Teams will be able to edit any text I have created in that textbox when uploaded to Dropbox.

You can also do it directly via Dropbox, you dont need to use Adobe 🙂

Oh! That's the part I can't figure out even with the directions you linked. I can only seem to add text but not the "box" around the text...or "border" around it like in this image.

Hey anonymous - sorry to jump in here, but I just wanted to mention that you won't be able to add borders to your text blocks at this time through Dropbox.
You should be able to achieve that through a 3rd party or an app integration though.
I hope this clears things up a tad and let us know if you have any more questions.
