Windows 10 Can't sync (permission denied) [SOLVED!]
edit: look my last post for solution.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm running Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview Build 10565 and Dropbox v3.10.11.
I have some files that are not getting synced, like 20 out of 32.000 files I have on my Dropbox folder. The error is permission denied.
The files are pdfs, word, excel, and picasa ini files, and different pictures.
The problematic files are located in Public, Camera Uploads, and other folders.
The same files are getting synced perfectly on my W7 Enterprise and W8.1 Pro machines. I'm using my Dropbox on three machines and two tablets now, experiencing problems only with Windows 10.
What should I do?
What is causing this?
Sounds like a Windows 10 issue...
Unlinking the computer nor complete uninstal&reinstalling Dropbox didn't work.
After both actions there are the same files that still are not getting synced...
My problem is RESOLVED!
Solution: Updataing Windows 10.
I was running build 10565 before, now after update 10586.3.After the update everything is working and all the files are synced!
So that must have been an OS releted issue since the update fixed it.

Win 10 home here. Same issues. Have tried all recommended fixes.
If I change dropbox.exe to run as administrator it works. That is only a temp fix as I have to give it permission each time PC starts.
I suspect it's a Win 10 access permissions issue but don't know how to solve it.

also windows 10, same exact issue. I've removed Dropbox and re-added it and have the same issue.

I resolved my issue by giving "Home User" full access in Dropbox folder security settings. BTW I still had an issue with 10586.3.

I resolved my issue by switching to the other (signed off but still active) user account on this laptop (my wife's Windows acct on this PC), logging her out, then logging back in to my account. Now Windows 10 doesn't stop Dropbox from syncing.
