Hey Nahome , sorry to hear about this.
I'm afraid that if the Transfer expired, you'll need to contact the person who originally shared the transfer with you in the first place and ask them to resend it to you.

If I share a dropbox file:
1. does the other person have to have a dropbox account to access it?
2. how long can a person access a file I have shared via dropbox (that is, if I DON'T set an expiration, will it be available forever?)

To better answer your questions, it'd be useful to know which Dropbox feature you'd be using to share your files in the first place. Would it be the shared links feature and the advanced settings on them or maybe you had the Dropbox Transfer feature in mind?
