How to download a 280GB file from DB Backups?
The file is in a folder on my external drive backup. I get notification that it's too large to zip. So how can I download it without having to copy the entire drive backup to a new drive?

We have had an issue recently where some files on the DB Backups synced external drive are now showing up as 0 bytes. This has happened on 2 separate Macs with synced external drives. Unsure wether this is a Mac OS update or Dropbox related issue. The 0 byte files still show up at their correct file size on the DB Backups cloud copy of the drive.
To clarify - there is no way of accessing the 280GB file stored in the Backups copy of my drive?

Dropbox backup doesnt work like Sync does Im afraid. The way to access is to restore. So to access the 280gb file and see whats in it/use things you need to restore the drive instead.

When you say restore the drive - can I restore the entire Backups copy of the ext. drive to a new blank drive?

Hi Stretch1, to restore a file from your Dropbox Backup, you would need to download it manually by following these steps. Currently, there isn't another method to download an external drive backup.

Thanks - I backup my main drive to Backups so that I have a copy of it I can access in case the physical drive fails. Are you saying I'm not able to copy the cloud backup from DB Backups to a new drive if my main drive fails? That would make Backups redundant for me - please confirm.
