File names abbreviated in landscape mode
Hi, my file names remain abbreviated to portrait mode width even when I turn my phone to landscape mode. Is this a know bug.
Help, this is a major, major pain.
Thanks.

Hey there David K.41, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
Could you please clarify your device's OS version and the version of the Dropbox mobile app installed there?
Also, have you tried rebooting or clearing the app's cache since you first noticed this?
Keep me posted, David.

Sorry to jump in here, David K.41.
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Dropbox app, to see if that helps?
Just make sure that you have up to 3 connected devices, if you're on a Basic plan, because if you have more than 3, you won't be able to sign back in after you reinstall.

Same problem as the OP.
It has existed in the iPad app as long as I can remember. It was "introduced" to the Android app within the last week or two.
Before recent Android app update, rotating device to landscape showed longer filenames with fewer instances of "..."
Now, the portrait and landscape file lists are the same, with a large amount of unused screen space to the right of the abbreviated filenames.
This significantly reduces the usability of the app.

Hopefully that's great news, in that its not specific to me. Surely its a bug that they're going to fix. (That being said, they haven't fix it on the iPhone yet, so...)
I hope they appreciate how big a deal it is.
Thanks for piping in.

Hi Hannah
I was nervous as I wasn't sure if I was on the "basic plan", as I didn't know that a "plan" can be free.... but my plan has the word "plus" in it so I went for it.
But no, it didn't work 🙂
Thanks for trying.
