Can we upgrade to rewind after the files have been deleted for more than 30 days?

Can we upgrade to rewind after the files have been deleted for more than 30 days?

I deleted all my dropbox data on one of my machines as the dropbox was not syncing properly (I am on the basic/free plan). After more than 30 days I fixed the dropbox issue on the machine, but it synced to cloud and deleted all the files. And now all the files are marked as deleted for more than 30 days. And it synced to my other machine as well and now I don't have access to any data on my dropbox.

The files don't show up in the Deleted Files folder as well, I am thinking they are permanently deleted? Though I am not sure.

Can I now upgrade my account to a paid version and use rewind to get my files back? Or is this a lost situation?

Thanks for posting your question on our Community, @jains2k.

Even if you upgrade your Dropbox account now, the extended file recovery window won’t work retroactively, so it won’t apply for these files, I’m afraid.

Just to clarify though, right after your Dropbox files were deleted from your web account, did you check your Deleted files page and you couldn’t recover them?

What about your Events page? Did you check that too, but it didn’t help?

Let me know.

Yes, I checked the deleted files section and events. Deleted files were empty and the events showed the items were deleted more than a month ago. But the sync actually happened yesterday?

If they files were deleted from another device then that would trigger the 30 day window - it just wouldnt sync to devices until they were connected to the internet. So, in theory, a device may never get that 'delete' command if it never re-connected to Dropbox.

Have you tried searching on the local machine to see if they've been moved to a hidden cache? Doing a search of a file name with all files and folders unhidden that could show some.
