Never used DropBox before.   Started a new position and was emailed an invite to edit a folder on DropBox by a co-worker.   My questions are:   This folder is quite large and when I created my log in at the Basic level it said I was out of storage instantly.   Do I automatically need to upgrade to more capacity if all I am doing is sharing this other file?   or is there a version where I can piggy back off theirs and not need my own account?

Hi @Rags1, welcome to our Community!

A shared folder takes up space on both the sender's and the receiver's Dropbox account.

If you have a Basic 2GB account, and someone shared with you a folder that's 2GB or more, that would immediately reduce your quota, and put you out of space.

If you wish, you can ask the user to share a link with you, but that would allow you to view and download the file, and not edit.

I hope this clarifies!
